POWER OUTAGE / STORM UPDATE
The effects of Tuesday evening’s storm are being addressed on numerous fronts. Our City Service Department crews took to the streets immediately to assure our roadways were safe and passable. They will continue chipping debris from tree lawns as quickly as possible.
First Energy has yet to provide us anything definitive as to when the widespread outages in our City will be addressed. A recorded message was broadcast early this morning with an Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) of August 14 at 11:30 PM. THIS IS A GLOBAL ESTIMATE – meaning when First Energy believes they will have restored ALL but has nothing to do with our specific outages. Most of our local outages are “pending investigation” so First Energy has not even begun to assess the simplicity or complexity of each. We continue to be in contact with our First Energy representatives and are awaiting any updates they can provide. We will share once information becomes specific to Lyndhurst!
In the meanwhile, please know that our Lyndhurst Community Center is open for charging your devices and as a cooling center should temperatures get uncomfortable. Regular hours are from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm and may be extended as circumstances require.
Stay safe! Mayor Patrick Ward
