The Fire Department will flush hydrants throughout the City beginning May 1st.
Users may experience low water pressure and temporary discoloration caused by the stirring up of sediment in the system. This is not harmful. It is recommended that the washing of clothes be avoided when flushing is taking place in your local area.
Please check your water condition prior to washing clothes. To remedy discoloration, run cold water in all your faucets for five minutes or until clear.
Periodic flushing of the water distribution system is necessary to remove sediment and as a means of locating non-working hydrants and valves.
